Beyond Nirvana

A program for committed chamber ensembles to rehearse and receive coaching, working toward a final performance. First semester runs from September-November; the second runs January-March. Each semester includes 5 or 6 Friday evenings of intensive and fun work. Each Friday night includes time to rehearse and coach, plus a performance or master class with a chance for peer input. It is for very advanced high school players who audition or are invited to join, and then are grouped with other individuals from around western Washington. Direct inquiries to Karen Iglitzin at karen@chambermusicmadness.org.

The "Anti-Contest"

This concert, held as a 'mock contest', is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and to student participants! String, piano, and woodwind student chamber groups perform with costumes and props; judges give awards to every ensemble. Click here for details or to see the latest photos.

Camp-In-A-Day

Karen provides coaching for high school chamber groups and their teachers, with Karen & Irv. Coaching is provided Fridays 9am-4pm. Only 5 groups each time; first come, first served. Call Karen for details. Click here for details or to see photos.

School Outreach

Karen provides coaching and advice to help teachers and high schools develop and hone chamber music programs as a component of their music offerings. Each year, Karen starts two or three new programs. She and her group of chamber music teaching experts spend many hours in Seattle, Issaquah, Mukilteo, Port Angeles, etc. providing guidance, expertise, and enthusiasm. It's a great way to help the best and brightest students have the extra challenge and rewards that chamber music brings. Click here to see photos, or contact Karen for more info.
