Chamber Music Madness and the Skyros Quartet are proud to present a new program for adult amateur string players, called the Chamber Music Guild.
Many adult amateurs have enjoyed attending workshops where they receive coaching from professional musicians. These workshops offer a chance to delve deeper into great music, and to learn some of the techniques that make professional ensembles sound so good. Expanding on the success of these workshop experiences, Chamber Music Madness worked with the Skyros Quartet to develop a new program which will provide coaching opportunities to adult amateur players. Imagine being able to have the same kind of instrumental coaching you have experienced at retreats and workshops, but in the comfort of your home, at a time that fits your schedule! That’s what the Chamber Music Guild offers.
Guild membership is structured to accommodate different needs and schedules. As guild members, you and your musical friends will be coached by members of the dynamic Skyros Quartet. To become part of the Guild, you will need to form a chamber ensemble of at least trio size, and as large as an octet, and purchase a package of coaching sessions. Coaching will take place at a mutually agreed upon location and at a time you and the coaches negotiate with the rest of your ensemble.
Pricing for Chamber Music Guild coaching sessions:
3 sessions $110 per participant
6 sessions $200 per participant
9 sessions $270 per participant
Note: sessions must be scheduled and completed within 6 months.
Benefits of joining the Chamber Music Guild:
- Continuity – At a typical workshop you work on one or two movements of just one single piece intensively for a few days. As a member of the Chamber Music Guild you can choose the intensity level with sessions close together or stretched out over weeks. You can concentrate on the details of a single movement or devote your efforts to learning more general techniques of ensemble playing. The program is tailored to fit your needs.
- Convenience – Coaching when you want it. Instead of fitting your schedule to a particular workshop, you will work with your coach to schedule your sessions at a time and place that fits your group.
- Cost – Chamber music workshops can be expensive, particularly when they include travel and lodging. Coaching through the Chamber Music Guild is a less costly way of getting great coaching throughout the year.
Registration is open and your ensemble can start its sessions any month! Each member of your ensemble must register.
