Tuned In! Summer Student Festival is an intensive and comprehensive week-long musical learning experience for middle school, high school, and college students. Tuned In! takes place July 8-13, 2019, ending with a gala student performance on Saturday for friends and family. The festival mixes serious education with lots of fun, in a noncompetitive atmosphere.
We are excited to announce our new sponsor and NEW LOCATION for Tuned In! 2019. Seattle Waldorf School (SWS), adjacent to Magnuson Park at 7777 62nd Avenue NE Seattle, will host Tuned In! 2019. Our collaboration with SWS is good news for the summer Festival as it provides a more central location and opportunities for expansion. Thank you, Seattle Waldorf School!
This is a unique opportunity to work with a professional string quartet! Coaching by the dynamic Skyros Quartet provides an incomparable experience for youthful chamber music players. Activities will include master classes and sight-reading sessions, plus enrichment such as theatre arts and relaxation exercises. Each year the festival invites a world-class artist from the Seattle Chamber Music Society to present a master class, and Tuned In! students have even had the opportunity to participate in the Seattle Chamber Music Society’s Music Under the Stars. Students can expect to improve their skills and musicianship and become more expressive players.
Tuned In! was a super fun chamber music camp. I loved how we got to do a wide range of things (theatre arts, yoga, etc.) and learned how the related to music and how they made us better musicians. It made it more than just a music camp because we learned so much.
– Jonathan, Tuned In! student
Tuned In! 2019 will be July 8th through 13th.
